Warranty Limitations

OUR WARRANTY

Silva Custom Furniture warranty is limited in that it is provided to the original purchaser and owner. This warranty applies to furniture used for normal indoor household use. Our warranty does not apply to furniture that has been abused or used in a business environment and/or for commercial purposes. This warranty does not cover products sold in “distress”or “as is” condition, products sold “second hand” or products purchased from a retailer or any other form of reseller not authorized by Silva Custom Furniture to sell our product.

Silva Custom Furniture shall, in no event be responsible for any incidental or consequential damage and in no event shall the responsibility of Silva Custom Furniture exceed the purchase price of the product or its replacement.

Lifetime Limited Warranty-Frames & Springs

Silva Custom Furniture warrants to the original purchaser all frames and springs to be free from manufacturing defects for the life of the product. This warranty applies under conditions of normal usage, of the product being upholstered in its original fabric and such guarantee does not apply to defects resulting from negligence, misuse and or accidents.

Silva Custom Furniture is not responsible for custom dimensions provided by the Retailer or original purchaser and owner.

5 Year Limited Warranty- Cushion Cores

All cushions are under warranty for a period of five (5) years from manufacturing defects and against the loss of resiliency, with validation of normal wear and tear and confirmation by manufacturer of resiliency loss.

The loss of resiliency should not, however, be confused with slight softening and flattening of the polyester fibers and foam that will occur as a result of normal use and aging. Cushions material will begin to soften and conform to the shape of the user and these qualities should not be considered manufacturing defects.
Polyester wraps, used to create surface softness, will, over time, lose some of the initial loft, which may contribute to cushions flattening and wrinkling. This is normal.

Feather cushions will, by design, flatten, wrinkle and soften. We suggest you fluff feather or down cushions regularly. Feather and down cushions are wrapped in a down-proof breathable ticking which creates a feather barrier; however, feathers will poke through the fabric from time-to-time. This is considered normal performance and is not a defect.
1 Year Limited Warranty- Fabrics

Upholstery fabrics including slip covers are under warranty for one (1) year against seam slippage, fraying and dye transfer, but only if any cleaning confirms to industry standard methods. This warranty does not cover wearing wrinkling, fading (upholstered fabric should never be placed in the direct sunlight), pilling or fabric that has been treated with a dealer or consumer applied soil repellent. All COM (Customer’s Own Material) are excluded from our warranty. Leather supplied by Silva is warranted against splitting, seam slippage and dye transfer. Nature’s own characteristics such as wrinkling, markings and variations in grain or colour are not covered. All natural leather may fade. Popped buttons are not covered under warranty as there may be any number of causes for this that are out of our control. Silva can repair popped buttons for a nominal fee.

Limited Warranty- Mattresses and Mechanisms

Silva Custom Furniture warrants the sofa bed mattresses to the original owner for a three (3) year period. The bed mechanisms are warranted for a one (1) year period. This warranty only covers defects in material and workmanship and does not include punctures, cuts, impact breaks, overloading. It is recommended that you do not fold sofa beds with sheets, blankets or pillows inside. This may cause the mechanism to bend which is not covered under any warranty. Mattresses should be rotated frequently to increase longevity.

Service

All furniture is FOB from our location in Toronto. To request service under this warranty, contact the authorized Silva Custom Furniture Selling Dealer from whom you purchased your Silva furniture within ten (10) days. The Selling Dealer will, in turn, contact Silva. Arrangements must be made with the Selling Dealer to transport the furniture to our factory for repair. (The Silva Custom Furniture Warranty does not include any costs for packing or transporting to or from your home or the retail location.)

Certain information is required to process a request for service. We suggest that you keep your sales receipt and all pertinent documentation. Without proper validation of the furniture the warranty will not be valid.
